Always such a pleasant experience at Picnic cafe! Every time I’ve been, there’s been great service and the staff bring a positive atmosphere. Good range of food and prices, so don’t have to spend moonbeams for a good savoury. If you’re thinking about going, just do it!

Description

Nestled within the lush greenery of the City Botanic Gardens, Picnic Café offers a serene escape for those looking to unwind with a cup of coffee or enjoy a delicious meal amidst nature’s beauty. The café boasts a charming ambiance, enhanced by stunning views of the surrounding gardens. Many patrons rave about the inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for both leisurely brunches and quick bites after a stroll through the flora.

The service at Picnic Café is consistently lauded, with staff known for their friendly demeanor and efficient service, even during bustling weekends. Visited often by locals and tourists alike, the café manages to maintain a positive vibe that leaves visitors feeling welcomed. Many find it especially enjoyable to relax with a drink while taking in the picturesque park views, often highlighting the impressive quality of their coffee and the vibrant dishes on the menu.

While the café’s food offerings generally receive applause, some reviews suggest variability in experience, particularly with certain menu items. The creamy mushroom medley, for example, garners high praise for its flavor, though there have been mixed feelings about other dishes, such as the pulled pork on ciabatta and some baked goods. Nonetheless, many visitors feel that the atmosphere and redeeming qualities of certain menu items more than make up for occasional shortcomings.

Additionally, a visit to Picnic Café is incomplete without indulging in their delightful desserts, such as the popular passionfruit cheesecake, praised for its deliciousness. However, keep an eye on those cheeky birds that frequent the outdoor seating. They add a bit of charm but can also be quite the distraction when it comes to enjoying your food!

Picnic Café is not just a place for a meal; it is an experience. Whether stopping for a hearty lunch, a sweet treat, or simply a refreshing drink, visitors will find that this café provides a delightful retreat within the heart of nature. It stands out as a must-visit for anyone exploring the botanical gardens or simply looking for a tranquil spot to work on their laptop while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
