Great Atmosphere and Friendly Baristas
Great coffee in Sydney CBD. The barista was very friendly. Good seating location as it has outdoor seating, and we can see many people walk across the street.

Description
Nestled in the bustling heart of Sydney’s Central Business District, this charming café has quickly become a hidden gem for both locals and visitors alike. Renowned for its dedication to quality and detail, the café serves up an impressive selection of coffee that keeps patrons returning for more. The double shot flat white made with Mecca roast coffee is particularly praised, offering a smooth and delicious start to any day. With friendly baristas who embrace service with a smile, the café creates an inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for those looking to unwind or catch up on work.
The baristas take pride in their craft, ensuring every cup is brewed to perfection. From cold brews ideal for warm days to exquisite espresso drinks, visitors have commented on the consistent quality of the drinks served here. While some may have encountered a slightly less-than-ideal experience with a seemingly curt staff member, the overall consensus is that the team is warm and accommodating, turning any mishaps into seamless corrections without fuss. This blend of efficiency and hospitality makes it a go-to spot for anyone in need of a coffee fix during a busy day.
Another highlight of this café is its delightful outdoor seating, which allows patrons to soak in the vibrant energy of the city. Many reviews emphasize the café’s role as a fantastic spot for people-watching, adding to its charm. The menu features a concise but delightful selection of food, with options like the Mecca bowl filled with roasted veggies and quinoa gaining particular favor. Many claim it’s the best coffee in CBD, and it’s easy to see why—from exceptional brews to kind staff and a vibrant atmosphere, you’re sure to leave with a smile on your face. Highlights
- Impeccable Coffee and Worth the Journey: Best coffee I have had for years. Impeccable. Worth travelling from NZ for! Cabinet food looked beaut. Didn’t realise there was also a food menu, but I wasn’t exactly looking very hard to be fair. Awesome location if you like people-watching.
- Exceptional Espresso and Accommodating Service: Probably the best espresso I had during my short trip to Sydney but what topped this experience was the service. The guy in the cap was most accommodating of our obnoxiously large group of friends trying to breakfast at a place clearly designed for more intimate groupings. This place gets busy but the service is quick so the wait won’t be so long. The gluten free bread is great as is the wild berry jam. Menu options are Australia standard - granola and yog, chia bowl, things on toast, buddha/poke/soul bowl thing.
- City Cafe with Alexandria Vibes: A great coffee place in the heart of the city, it feels more like cafe in Alexandria. Love their friendly staffs and also yummy toastie and coffee. Just a personal preference that I prefer more mushroom and less cheese in my toast.
