Authentic Sicilian Specialties

Really worth a visit to try Sicilian specialties. Friendly welcome and English spoken. The Arancini are amazing. So good, we packed some to take home on our flight. OK, everything is on paper plates with disposable cutlery, and items are reheated in the microwave, but the food is cheap, good and tasty (and fresh). Didn’t try the patisserie items but they certainly looked very tempting indeed.

Description

Tucked away in a charming corner of the city, this cafe has quickly become a beloved destination for both locals and travelers alike. Visitors rave about the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly demeanor of the staff, with many highlighting the owner’s generous spirit. One guest recounted a delightful experience where the owner treated them to a free gelato, turning an ordinary visit into an unforgettable treat. With its cozy environment, this cafe offers a perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind or work on their laptop while enjoying delicious refreshments.

The food offerings at this cafe are nothing short of delightful. Guests have praised the authenticity of the Italian specialties available, from the warm honey croissant, known as cornetto con miele, to the famous arancini that many found irresistible. The prices are reasonable, especially when compared to the often inflated prices of nearby tourist traps, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious visitors who still want to indulge in delicious food. Many commenters noted the cafe’s excellent pastries and desserts, including espresso that hits the mark every time. The selection of sweets is complemented by the cozy setting, perfect for savoring a quiet moment with a book or laptop.

While the cafe serves its coffee in to-go cups, which some patrons found a bit odd, the overall experience often outweighs such quirks. From the consistently friendly staff to the inviting ambiance, guests feel right at home. Even those who encountered minor issues with specific menu items, such as tiramisu or cafe lattes, emphasized the great service and welcoming nature of the cafeteria. One reviewer even said that they discovered incredible terrameso and espresso by chance, highlighting the cafe’s knack for surprising discoveries and hidden culinary gems.

In conclusion, this lovely cafe is a hidden gem with much to offer anyone seeking a laptop-friendly space paired with delectable food. With authentic Italian dishes available at reasonable prices and a staff that goes above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience, it’s no wonder why visitors keep coming back. Whether you’re here for a quick cup of coffee, a pastry, or a full meal, you’ll undoubtedly leave happy and satisfied.

Highlights

  • Cozy Atmosphere: Tasty, authentic Italian food. The service and atmosphere is nice and cozy. Each item is reasonably priced.
  • Hidden Gem: I go suddenly but I found amazing terrameso and espresso as well but the name of the shop is different (sikulo food).
  • Affordable Prices, Great Service: Prices right with great service. More than a few gem spots on this street. Can get a whole calzone for the same price as a single suppli in trastavere.
  • Unique Experience: It’s not called gransicily, so you will have a hard time finding it. They serve espresso in paper cups. As a result my Italian girlfriend got mad at me for taking her here.
