Cool and Clean Store

Came to this Starbucks a few times during my stay at Puerto Vallarta in Zona Romantica. The store is cool and clean, perfect for a hot day when you need a cold beverage and some strong ac. They had drinks that seem to be unique to the area, such as the Pina coco yogurt Frappuccino, which I highly recommend.

Description

Nestled in the heart of Puerto Vallarta’s vibrant Zona Romantica, this Starbucks location is a haven for both locals and travelers seeking a comfortable spot to unwind and recharge. Known for its inviting atmosphere, it offers everything you need for a productive day, from generous seating to reliable Wi-Fi. After a long day of exploring or a rejuvenating massage, patrons often find solace in its cozy interior, making it the perfect stop to enjoy a delicious chai tea or a uniquely crafted drink like the Pina Coco Yogurt Frappuccino.

The ambience here strikes a delightful balance between familiarity and local charm. From the bright murals adorning the walls to the well-maintained outdoor seating under a welcome overhang, it provides a refreshing break from the bustling streets. Customers appreciate the friendly service, with staff often greeted by name, adding a personal touch that enhances the experience. The staff are typically noted for their politeness and efficiency, creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued.

For remote workers, this café stands out as an ideal workspace. Many have praised its long hours and the consistent availability of seating. Whether you prefer the cool comfort of air conditioning indoors or the lively street atmosphere outside, there are options for everyone. Several visitors laud the clean restroom facilities and the overall tidy environment, making it an easy choice when looking for a place to get things done.

While some reviews highlight the uniqueness of certain menu items and the advantages of “Big Brand” consistency, others point out that it offers a familiar taste that many visitors seek when away from home. Though a few critiques suggest that it can feel a bit too touristy at times, the warmth of the staff and the reliable quality of their coffee keep customers coming back. Whether you come for a quick coffee break or to settle in for a longer work session, this Starbucks promises to deliver a satisfying experience that combines productivity with a touch of local flavor.

Highlights

  • Great Service and Well-Made Drinks: The service was great, the staff was polite, my drink came quickly and it was well made.
  • Super Friendly Service and Delicious Coffee: Always super friendly service, great tasting 100% organic, single origin Mexican coffee from Starbucks at reasonable fare. Muchos Gracias, muy bien, delicioso cafe!
  • A Good Option with WiFi: They do have wifi, though and a few outdoor tables. You won’t dislike it here.
  • Recommend Local Owned Cafes: In comparison to the warm and friendly privately owned cafes all around the Romantic Zone, Starbucks is touristy, and less welcoming. Look for Rico Cafe on Calle Jacarandas. Locally and American owned, Sophia and Miriam will make you a fresh inexpensive hot beverage of your choice and always has fresh, delicious food/bakery choices,as well. The ladies will make you feel warm and welcome!
  • Clean Bathroom and Convenient Location: I’ve been coming to this location since they opened. The bathroom is always clean and the area is easier to get to than the malecon location.
  • Mixed Experience: The downsides are that there is one barista that is always slow and does not create drinks in order. The food selection is great. The only real complaint I have is the staff always skips the line and makes their own and their local friends drinks before the guests. But it is what it is. I’m still happy to have this location.
  • Price Discrepancy and Poor Customer Service: I’ve been a long time customer & even a “partner” at Starbucks back in the day. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, with just one person in front of me, I ordered my drink, chai latte with regular milk and no water, and was charged more than the advertised price on the menu. I asked the young lady at the register why she was overcharging me. She said it was because of the milk. I said I didn’t request any specialty milk alternatives. She said that I wanted to remove the water, which means extra milk to make a complete drink. Not sure if this is corporate greed on the part of Starbucks, or just one corrupt employee. Either way, it’s a very bad look for the company. Buyer beware.
